My choice of simple workhorse. The SRP2000 pretty much does everything you'll need it to, and none of the stuff you don't.
From the factory, the output power in DMO is quite low (circa 20 Milli-Watts), but Sepura products can be re-aligned. Most Sepura handhelds make around 2.5 Watts after re-alignment.
SRP2000's have either a green illuminated (Gen1) or Greyscale (Gen2) screen, but they don't use as much battery power as the colour screen Sepura's.
Depending on firmware, they automatically detect and affiliate with DMO repeaters and TMO gateways.
Fully supports SDS (text) messaging and pre-defined status messaging in DMO.
SGPS models can work out and send their location over the air interface. Also, within the test page, you can see the longitude / latitude and other parameters displayed on the screen.
Be careful of handsets still running early V4 software - they are pretty unstable when working through DMO repeaters.
The latest software available for these handsets is V8.3 (SW part No: 163901602932).
"Manage Images" and direct dialling of an ISSI in DMO became available at V9 software, but V9 did not include support for the SRP2000.
SRP2000 GEN1
The "generation 1" handsets are recognisable by the more angular case design compared to Gen2 handsets, and a green illuminated LCD screen.
SRP2000 GEN2
The "generation 2" handsets are recognisable by the rounded case design compared to Gen1 handsets, and a greyscale LCD screen.
